CO is mainly used in carbonyl synthesis, while H2 is mainly used in oil refining, and the metallurgical, electronics, and fine chemicals industries.
Technical features and capacity
The catalytic cracking of methanol generates mixed gas containing ~68 percent (v/v) hydrogen and ~30 percent (v/v) CO, then, through PSA purification, we obtain hydrogen with a purity of 99.99 percent (v/v) and CO with a purity of 99.5 percent (v/v). This operation is quite simple, energy conserving, and pollution free.
