During 6th-7th September, “2018 National Seminal of Industrial Vent Gas Reuse Technology” was co-held by SWRDICI, State Key Laboratory of Industrial Vent Gas Reuse, and National C1 Chemical Research & Engineering Center. More than 200 experts, scholars and engineers attended the seminal. They were from Institutes, universities and enterprises at home and abroad, including Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Fudan University, Zhengzhou University, Sichuan University, Chengdu Institute of Organic Chemistry, CNPC, CNOOC, Celanese of USA, etc. Relevant leaders from China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, Sichuan Economy and information Commission, China National Chemical Industry Group Ltd. and China Haohua Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. attended the meeting and delivered speeches. A total of 39 papers were collected and compiled into the Papers Collection named “2018 National Symposium on Comprehensive Utilization of Industrial Emissions” for professional exchange.
Jin Yong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of Tsinghua University, made a keynote report on "Low Carbon Energy Chemical Industry". By analyzing the current situation of fossil energy, the development of modern coal chemical technology, as well as the construction strategy of world-class energy chemical industry and market-driven aspects, this report introduced the technological development achievements in coal chemical industry, and discussed the pros and cons of different coal chemical technologies。 At the end of the report, academician Jin Yong pointed out that, to seek greater development space of coal chemical industry, the future orientation should be focused on seeking breakthroughs in differentiation, high value-added products and extension of industrial chain.
A total of 17 experts delivered reports on the latest research results and technological progress of comprehensive utilization of industrial emissions, including Chen Jian, Director of State Key Laboratory for Industrial Vent Gas Reuse; Fan Weibin, Director of Shanxi Institute of Coal Chemicals, State Key Laboratory for Coal Conversion; Qiao Minghua, Fudan professor of University; Tang Yaozu, Chairman of Shanxi Guoxin Zhengtai New Energy Co., Ltd.; etc.. Focusing on thesis of “green, low-carbon, recycling and development”, those experts analyzed in depth the trend on fields of industrial vent gas, technologies on energy-saving and environmental protection, carbon resource transforming with high efficiency and clean energy, etc. Meanwhile their achievements on common technologies, key technologies, process package, and catalysts were introduced, which would guide the direction of technological innovation in the industry.
At the seminal, reports from the SWRDICI on technologies of coal to SNG, VOCs Key materials, coal to ethanol, PSA for gas separation attracted great concerns from participants. Of these technologies, COG to SNG had been commercialized successfully, coal to SNG and coal to methanol were on demonstration, and acetic acid to acrylic acid was on research. Experts pointed out that the successful commercialization and demonstration of those above technologies would be meaningful for the strategies of “protection of green maintains and clean water”, because it would help to alleviate the contradiction between demand and supply of nature gas, to extend fuel ethanol industrial chain, to reduce emission from concerned high-pollution industries, and to realize synergistic effect among energy, resource and environment.
It was reported that the State Key Laboratory for Industrial Vent Gas Reuse, which was established in 2007 by Southwest Chemical Research and Design Institute Limited, would focus on technological demand from development of strategic emerging industries and transformation and upgrading of traditional in fields of energy, resources, environment, materials and process industries, and carry out research on industrial vent gas purification, separation and reuse. What’s more, it would continue to lay out patents, to establish technical standards, to recruit and foster talents and to share and be more open. The aim of the State Key Laboratory was to be a research platform, talent base, academic exchange center, and a platform on Combination of industry, University, as well as a research and innovation resource sharing platform with great influence all over China.
