5 National standards concerning coal chemical industry initiated by the SWRDICI were approved to rel

Lately, SWRDICI, subcommittee 2 on Chemical Products of National Technical Committee 469 on Coal Chemical Industry of Standardization on  Administration of China, had initiated to establish 5 national standards, such as “Direct Liquefaction of Coal to Mixed Aromatic Hydrocarbon”, etc.. These 5 standards were approved to release recently by State Administration of Market Supervision & Administration and National Standardization Management Committee together and would be officially implemented on 1^st Feb., 2019.

These 5 approved national standards were as following: “Direct Liquefaction of Coal to Mixed Aromatic Hydrocarbon” (GB/T 36562-2018), “Methanol to Gasoline Component Oil”(GB/T 36563-2018), “Coal to Gasoline Component Oil by Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis”(GB/T 36564-2018), “Coal to Naphtha by Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis”(36565-2018), “Production of Naphtha by Direct Coal Liquefaction”(GB/T 36566-2018). The implementation of these 5 standards were meaningful for both sellers and buyers of the industry because it provided a legal basis to ensure quality for concerned products.

The energy structure characteristic of China was “of shortage of oil, little gas and rich coal”. To solve problems above, the government laid out 3 types of demonstration plants to produce oil, such as Coal-to-liquids (CTL), indirect coal liquefaction and Methanol to Gasoline (MTG) so as to seek the best routine of coal to oil. CPC and state leaders attached great importance to coal-to-oil demonstration projects, and specially pointed out that the successful operation of Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group's 4 million tons/year coal-to-liquids demonstration project was of great significance to China's ability to enhance energy independent support, promote clean and efficient use of coal, and promote the development of ethnic areas. Also, the successful operation was a useful exploration of a high efficiency, clean and low-carbon development approach and an important achievement in implementing the national strategy of “Innovation Driving Development”.
