Recently, the new catalyst for propene synthesis from propane dehydrogenation, a research program of application basis from Sichuan province, which is undertaken by our institute, has passed the acceptance test of Department of Science and technology of Sichuan province.
In this project, systematic research on new substrate synthesis, preparation and regeneration techniques of propane dehydrogenation catalyst has been accomplished. Special alumina-molecular sieve composite supporter has been invented successfully, and propane dehydrogen catalyst which is suitable for fixed-bed process has been prepared on this basis. Compared with existing industrial catalysts, the new catalyst exhibits advantages such as long lifetime, high activity, and low platinum (Pt) amount.
Propane dehydrogen is a new process for propane production. Up to now the profit before tax can reach 80 million RMB per year the technique and catalyst for this process is monopolized by foreign companies, so this program is a breakthrough for the localization of the technique. In the future, by the time the technique is industrialized, the profit before tax per year can reach 80 million RMB from a fixed-bed propane dehydrogen plant with production capacity of 100 k t/a ,with the construction investment of 400 million RMB .
