Recently, the novel dimethyl ether catalysts developed by the SWRDICI for ultra-large scale plant passed the evaluation, organized by the third party Sichuan Zhixin Jiuding Science& Technology Evaluation Co., Ltd.. and then was registered by Science &Technology Department of Sichuan Province.
The SWRDICI’S technology of dimethyl ether production from methanol, which has been developed for years, adopts novel catalyst formulation and preparation process including Preforming molding and Step-by-step heating and baking so as to enhance the catalyst’s strength, Specific surface area, activity, selectivity, and service life. The catalyst is characteristic of low energy consumption, no pollution and low cost. In addition, it is suitable for ultra-large scale plant to produce dimethyl ether from methanol. Till now, the catalyst has been used to Shenhua’s MTP plant with production capacity of million ton per year, which is to produce propylene from methanol by dimethyl ether. The plant’s running report shows that the performance of di-methyl ether catalyst from the SWRDICI is better than its foreign counterparts.
By evaluating, it is agreed that, the novel dimethyl ether catalyst developed by the SWRDICI has replaced its foreign counterparts to be used to an ultra-large scale plant successfully and the whole technology has reached the international advanced level.
