CN-31 catalyst is applicable to pre-reforming units for producing reforming gas rich in CH4 (≥60 percent) from light oil, liquefied gas or refinery tail gas. The reforming gas can be used to produce city gas, ammonia syngas, methanol syngas or hydrogen.
Wide adaptability to raw materials composition: Raw materials could be reformed by CN-31 catalysts include refinery tail gas, liquefied gas as light oil. The final boiling point of light oil can reach 205℃ and its density can be as high as 0.76 Kg/L. Family composition of the light oil is ~50 percent alkanes, ~30 percent cycloalkanes, and ~20 percent arenes.
Good activity and stability at low temperatures: At 400~550℃, the air speed range of raw oil is 1~5.6h-1. The production load can be raised significantly.
Resistance against carbon deposition: As the catalyst contains NiO of not less than 60 percent with a low-temperature activity, it can convert higher hydrocarbons into CH4, H2 and CO2 at low temperatures. Therefore, no carbon is deposited during operations, ensuring a sufficient service life.
Good reducibility: Direct reductions within the range of operating temperatures.

Plastic bags are used as inner packages. Iron drums or rigid plastic drums are used as outer packages.
During storage, the catalyst should be kept from damp, frost and contamination. It should be handled with care.
